So, after I got accepted to Sacramento State, I realized that a big part of my lack of confidence was because I was never where I wanted to be. I wasn’t happy with what I saw as my lack of success. To me, I had been continuously failing because I was still in community college and I graduated high school in 2006, making it a total of six years now. That is terrible, considering you aren’t supposed to spend more than 2-3 years there.

When I got accepted, I was so happy. It was the morning that we all knew my grandpa was absolutely going to die. Before I went to the hospital that morning I called Sac State, and I was accepted. I wanted to tell him while he was still coherent enough to understand. I don’t know if he was, but it seemed like he was. I have always believed that people who have died are able to watch over you in some way - not necessarily be able to change anything, but they’re omniscient. With all that’s happened lately…well.

I’m finally where I want to be. I’m on my way to bigger and better things. I’m on my way to more independence. Now that I don’t feel shame for not being at a 4-year school, I’m a lot more confident in social situations and I feel satisfaction that I got to this point like I said I would, and all the negative people in my life/past can BLOW ME
